Erwin Khachikian is a Los Angeles-based musician, producer, musical director, singer, songwriter, and recording artist. Born in Tehran, Iran, to Armenian parents, Erwin moved to Los Angeles at the age of 13 and developed his career across music production, live performance, touring, recording, and musical direction.
Erwin began his professional career as a touring and recording musician in his early twenties. His work has since taken him across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and other parts of the world, working in a wide range of musical styles and settings.
Erwin Khachikian has worked extensively as a music producer, arranger, and musical director, working with artists and productions in Persian, Armenian, rock, pop, and world music.
His musical-director credits include The Voice Persia (Season 1), Let Her Sing in San Francisco, Eldfesten in Stockholm, United East in Vancouver, and Voices of Armenia in Los Angeles.
He has also produced and directed live performances and music events in Los Angeles and internationally, bringing together musicians and artists from different musical backgrounds.
As a touring musician and performer, Erwin has worked extensively with Serj Tankian of System of a Down and has been a member of Serj Tankian and the F.C.C.
He has toured internationally as a keyboard player and musical director, performing at major festivals and venues including Rock am Ring, the Leeds Festival, and Reading Festival. He has also performed on television programs including The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Earlier in his career, Erwin was a member of Slow Motion Reign, which was signed to Columbia Records / Serjical Strike. The band released its first album in 2004 and performed with artists including Neal Schon, Jerry Cantrell, Ozomatli, and others.
In the early 2000s, Erwin produced and arranged two albums for acclaimed Iranian composer and musician Siavash Ghomeshi: Neghab and Bi Sarzamin Tar Az Bad.
These projects established Erwin as a producer and arranger within the contemporary Persian music scene and led to further work with Iranian artists and musicians.
His work has continued to connect Persian music with contemporary rock, pop, and international musical influences.
KARMANDAN is Erwin Khachikian's solo music project, founded in 2010.
Through KARMANDAN, Erwin combines Persian lyrics with contemporary rock and pop influences, often addressing Iranian cultural and social themes.
The project has developed an international Persian-speaking audience and has been associated with Iran's independent and underground music scene. Erwin has collaborated with Iranian musicians, songwriters, and artists on recordings and performances connected to KARMANDAN.
In addition to his work as a musician, producer, and musical director, Erwin Khachikian is actively involved in concert production, artist booking, and tour organization through C Sharp Entertainment.
His recent production and touring work includes organizing Martik's North American tour, as well as organizing European and U.S. tours for Pallett, the Iranian alternative music group.
In Los Angeles, Erwin has organized and presented concerts featuring internationally recognized artists, including Al Di Meola, as well as comedy performances featuring Maz Jobrani, Antic and Tehran.
Through his work in concert and tour production, Erwin brings together his experience as a musician and musical director with his knowledge of artist booking, venue programming, production, marketing, and live entertainment.
Based in Los Angeles, Erwin Khachikian continues to work across music production, recording, live performance, musical direction, concert production, tour organization, and artist development.
Through C Sharp Entertainment, he develops and presents live concerts, organizes domestic and international tours, books artists, and creates cultural and entertainment experiences for audiences in Los Angeles and beyond.
He continues to develop his own music and collaborate with artists internationally while producing live entertainment projects featuring established and emerging artists.
